2012 Awards of Excellence in Housing

General Conditions and Information


  • .Only CHBA-Central Alberta members in good standing as of February 29, 2012, are eligible to enter.
  • .Only two (2) submissions per member in each category will be accepted.
  • .NO SITE VISITS WILL BE MADE.
  • .Eligible units must be new or renovated housing completed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.
  • .Housing must be built or renovated in Central Alberta.
  • .To be eligible, each submission must be accompanied by an entry fee of $100.00 (plus GST) per entry.
  • .There is not entry fee for the Best of the Year award sub-category.
  • .Submission payments can be made on-line by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. If paying by cheque, payment must be received before March 1, 2012. Please make cheques payable to CHBA-Central Alberta.
  • .All entries become the property of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Central Alberta. CHBA-Central Alberta reserves the right to use any or all materials for the promotion of the Awards of Excellence in Housing.
  • .Winners may use the 2012 Awards logo for promotional purposes. Logo may not be altered in any way without permission from CHBA-Central Alberta.
  • CHBA-Central Alberta holds the rights to cancel a sub-category if we receive only one submission for that category.


  • Entry Procedures


  • .Each entry must have a separate Award Category On-Line Entry Form.
  • .In order to ensure the objectivity of the judging process, please remove all company names and addresses from submitted materials (photos).
  • .All entries must be submitted in full. No entry will be disqualified due to insufficient number of photographs. Missing information may result in a deficient evaluation.


  • Marketing Feature Sheet


  • .One page total, point form, Arial size 10 font
  • .Suggestion: Prepare your answers to the questions in a word document. Once you are satisfied with your comments, copy and paste into the correct area of the online MFS.


  • Floor & Site Plans (if requested)


  • .Name Digital files as follows: Company name and category number (i.e. ABCinc_MF1.jpg)
  • .Absolutely no company names on plans


  • Digital Images (Criteria and Naming)


  • .Images can be submitted horizontal and vertical.
  • .Photos must be 300 d.p.i.; image size not to exceed 7 MB.Digital images must be submitted as a JPEG, EPS or TIFF file in RGB.
  • .The file download process may take a few minutes per file – please be patient.
  • .Name Digital images as follows: Project Name, category and sequence number (i.e. hilltop_SF1_1.jpg)


  • Deadline: All entries and surveys must be submitted by February 29, 2012 - 4PM.
